Therapy Services

Therapy for People in Troy, Ohio

We get it. You’re either doing all of the things you can think of to get back on track - exercise, eating better, getting more sleep, but it’s just not working.

For many, the idea of starting therapy can be nerve-wracking and kind of scary. Acknowledging that you might benefit from talking to someone and then actually doing the legwork to find the right therapist is a HUGE step in the right direction. All that’s left is to reach out.

Or, maybe you know what you should be doing but you just can’t seem to find the energy or motivation to start. And, it’s also very possible that you just feel like you have no clue where to start. Well, that’s where you’re wrong. Simply because you are here, reading this, the work has already started.

Once you reach out, here’s what to expect.

From the moment you contact us, we’ll be here to walk alongside you. Together we’ll work through whatever has brought you in—whether it’s anxiety, depression, grief, stress, a big life transition, trauma, or struggles in your relationships. Maybe you’ve been putting this off for a while, but now feels like the right time to begin.

Many clients share the same thought after starting: “I only wish I had done this sooner.” You may be surprised at the relief you feel simply knowing you don’t have to carry this on your own anymore.

We hope that you will reach out so you can experience this for yourself.

THERAPY SERVICES

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is exactly as it sounds - you and your therapist. Sessions typically occur on a weekly basis to start and are approximately 50-60 minutes in length. Initially, the focus will be on building a relationship with your therapist and completing a thorough diagnostic assessment. Then, you and your therapist will decide on your treatment goals. And from there, the journey begins!

Couples and Family Therapy

Couples therapy includes you, your partner, and your therapist. The first priority is to establish a good relationship with your therapist and decide on goals. Most of the hard work will be done outside of the session. Whether you want to strengthen your relationship or would like help with a separation, infidelity, lack of intimacy, or poor communication, we can help. We can also help families overcome communication difficulties, conflict, blending families, and trauma recovery.

The Process

Schedule a free 15-minute consultation call. During this call, your therapist will have an opportunity to introduce themselves to you and you can briefly describe what led to your interest in therapy. Your therapist can then answer any questions you might have and further explain the process. If it feels like a good fit, then let’s get you scheduled. If it doesn’t feel quite right, the therapist you speak with can help point you in a better direction. Even if you decide not to work with us, let us help you find the right person.

Step One  |  Let’s Chat!

If you feel we’re a good match, the next step is to get you scheduled. Once your appointment is set, you’ll receive an email with a link to create your online client portal. Inside, you’ll find a few short questionnaires to help your therapist get to know you better before your first session. We’ll also ask you to upload your insurance, demographic, and payment information. Once that’s complete, you’ll be all set for your first appointment.

Step Two  |  Time to Get Scheduled!

The legwork is officially done and now you’re booked and ready to go. Your first few sessions will be about building rapport with your therapist and getting to know one another. Having a strong relationship with your therapist is the cornerstone of good therapy and will set the tone for the work that you will do together.

Step Three  |  Meet With Your Therapist
