Individual Counseling

60 mins |  $110

Are you tired of feeling stuck in the same emotional cycles?

Do you constantly people-please, overthink, or struggle to express your needs without guilt?

At Compass Counseling, I provide individual therapy for adults who are ready to break free from the shame, fear, and relational patterns that keep them disconnected from themselves and others. Whether you’re facing anxiety, unresolved trauma, low self-esteem, or the weight of a harsh inner critic, I help you make sense of your story so you can show up more fully in your life.

We’ll explore how your past relationships have shaped your present patterns. Together, we’ll process painful emotions, learn to regulate your nervous system, and practice more empowered ways of relating. I integrate trauma-informed, attachment-based approaches with tools from CBT, IFS, mindfulness, and somatic therapy to help you reconnect with yourself and others in meaningful ways.

Therapy is not about "fixing" you—it's about uncovering what’s already good and whole inside you. I’ll meet you where you are, with compassion and curiosity, and walk with you toward more self-trust, courage, and clarity.

Couples Counseling

60 mins |  $125

Are you both trying—but still not connecting? Do you feel more like roommates than partners?

Are you navigating a rupture, betrayal, or decision about the future of your relationship?

Couples therapy at Compass Counseling offers a space to slow down, reconnect, and build a relationship where both partners feel safe, seen, and supported. Whether you’re recovering from conflict, repairing after infidelity, or trying to deepen an already strong bond, I help couples improve communication, strengthen trust, and rebuild emotional and physical intimacy.

I draw from the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and psychobiological models to help you address patterns in real time. You’ll learn how to co-regulate through conflict, express needs without blame, and understand the deeper emotional dynamics beneath recurring arguments.

Therapy is active, collaborative, and tailored to your relationship’s unique strengths and challenges. This isn’t about surface-level solutions—it’s about building secure, resilient connection that can withstand life’s stressors and deepen over time.

FAQS

INDIVIDUALS

  • Every client is different. Some feel relief after a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support.

To build momentum, I ask that new clients attend weekly for the first 2–4 weeks. From there, we can transition to bi-weekly or as needed. This is always flexible and based on your goals.

  • Your first intake session will last 60 to 90 minutes, giving us space to explore what brings you in and establish a direction. Ongoing sessions are typically 50 to 55 minutes.

  • Therapy is a personal investment, and finding the right therapist matters. During our initial sessions, I’ll check in regularly to make sure you feel safe, comfortable, and connected in our work together. If something isn’t working, we’ll talk about it — no pressure, no judgment.

  • Compass Counseling is not a crisis center and I am not available for emergency or after-hours services. If you are in danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact a 24-hour crisis line or dial 911.

    Emergency Resources:

    • National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: 988 or 1-800-273-TALK (8255)

    • Miami County 24-Hour Crisis Line: (937) 335-7148

    • Nearest Emergency Room: Dial 911 or go to your local ER

COUPLES

  • This is more common than you’d think. If your partner isn’t ready, I encourage you to consider starting with individual therapy. Doing your own work can clarify what you need in the relationship — and often, positive change in one partner begins to shift the dynamic for both.

  • While every couple is different, most work with me for 3 to 12 months. If there are long-standing patterns of disconnection, conflict, or hurt, it may take more time to build new relational habits and deeper trust. We’ll check in regularly to assess progress.

  • When I serve as your couples therapist, I remain in that role only. That’s to protect neutrality and the health of the relationship dynamic. If either of you would like individual support alongside couples work, I’m happy to refer you to skilled therapists who can walk with you individually while we continue our work together.

  • I recommend exploring books and podcasts that support connection and emotional safety. I encourage all of my clients to read “Wired for Love” by Dr. Stan Tatkin or his audio book “Your Brain on Love” available on Audible. Esther Perel has a wonderful podcast “Where Should We Begin?”.

Book a free consultation

Reaching out is the first brave step towards change. At Compass Counseling in Troy, Ohio, I want to make that as easy as possible.

A good way to start is a complimentary consultation over phone so we can get a chance to talk and see if we may be a good fit to work together. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with — and no prep required. This is simply a chance to connect, ask questions, and talk through what you’re looking for in a therapist.

    • Individual Session – $110

    • Couples Session – $125

    • I also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need and availability—please feel free to ask if that’s something you’d like to explore.

These rates reflect my commitment to accessible, high-quality therapy in Troy, Ohio.

  • Session fees are due at the time of each appointment. I accept credit, debit, cash, HSA, and FSA cards.

I do not accept insurance at this time and am considered an out-of-network provider. However, I’m happy to provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. I’m also glad to help walk you through that process if needed.

  • To respect your time and mine, the following policies apply:

    • 24+ hour notice: No Fee

    • Late cancellation (<24 hours): 50% Session Fee

    • No-show: Full Fee
